How to make soap last longer.

Is there something you can do to make soap last longer?
The short answer: YES!

Before we get into it please know that not all soaps are the same. Every soaper has a different formulation. I personally formulate with hydration and longevity in mind. I use a higher percentage of hard oils versus soft oils. And I let soap sit for at least 6 weeks before selling it.

So! How can you make soap last longer?

The DO’S

Always place soap on a rack or well-draining soap dish away from the shower spray.
Use a loofah or bubble bag.
Let the soap dry in between uses

The DONT’S

Don’t let the soap sit in a dish that can fill up with water.
Don’t rub the bar directly on your body. This will result in using too much soap. A little bit goes a long way.
Don’t put soap in a container that doesn’t allow the soap to dry out.

So really it boils down to how well you take care of your soap. I’ve had customers tell me that they’ve gotten up to 2 months out of one single bar of soap. Of course, it depends on the soap. The oatmeal butter bar may not last as long. This is due to the oatmeal. Oatmeal absorbs water. So this is the exception to my formulations.
